A gun is only as good as its attachments, however, and the game offers players a wide array of scopes, magazines, and stocks to bolt onto their guns. This guide will take players through the process of purchasing, equipping, and using attachments on their guns.

What Do Attachments Do?
Attachments in The Cycle: Frontier all have unique effects on guns. The list below explains what several of the game’s attachments can provide, though not all are available in the same place. The game’s factions all have shops with unique inventories, so it’s worth checking all of their markets when looking for a specific attachment.
Optics - Lets the player zoom in further when aiming down the sights of their weapon. Angled Foregrips / Muzzle Brakes - Reduces recoil when firing. Quickdraw Stock / Quickdraw Foregrip / Ergonomic Grip - Equips the weapon faster when it’s switched to. Tactical Rear Grip - Makes aiming down sights faster. Red Dot Sight - Adds a rudimentary scope to the gun. Tactical Light - Adds a toggleable flashlight to the gun. Marksman Stock - Reduces the effect of recoil. Light / Medium / Heavy / Shotgun Quickdraw - Reduces reload time for specific weapon type.
It’s worth noting that not all attachments can be added to every weapon, however. The store page for each attachment lists the weapons it can be applied to.
How To Equip Attachments
After purchasing their desired attachment, it’s then time to equip it - assuming the attachment is compatible with the gun players want to use it with; they simply need to open their inventory with the ‘i’ key. From there, the attachments screen can be opened by clicking on the weapon with the mouse wheel.
This opens the attachments sub-menu; players will have tons of attachments to choose from in the late game, but the filtering system won’t see much use for now. Newer players will find everything they need in the ‘attachments’ tab and can equip their attachment by right-clicking it.
Using Attachments
Giving it attachments in the game’s various sub-menus is a good start, but if players want their newly kitted-out weapon on Fortuna III, they’ll need to make sure it’s equipped properly.
Mimicking the way they added the attachment, players must open the inventory and right-click on the gun to equip it. There’s an opportunity to double-check its equipped status and take out insurance on any gear before launching an expedition to the hostile planet, too, so players may wish to get insurance to protect their newly-upgraded weapon.
With the weapon suitably upgraded and equipped, the last thing players need to remember is to bring ammo, so they can actually use it to wreak havoc.
