Those playing The Division 2 on PS5 may have noticed that volumetric fog is missing on the system, which has a dramatic effect on the ambiance of the world. Luckily, Ubisoft is planning to address the issue with a fix tomorrow. With a 3-hour downtime starting at 12:30 AM PST, the developer plans to solve the problem and restore the fog to the game. It’s a small change, but one that can have a decent effect on the experience.

Of course, it isn’t the only issue fans have been experiencing on the system. Some users have also reported issues with The Division 2 crashing on PS5, though it’s unclear how widespread the problem is. Some players believe it’s due to connection issues, but it’s hard to say if that’s really fueling the problem or if it’s coincidental. Luckily, the issues seem to be spaced out enough that fans aren’t furious about the problem.

It’s been a relatively successful period for The Division 2 in the last few weeks. Major content updates were originally planned to end with Title Update 12, but Ubisoft has confirmed that The Division 2 will get new content through 2022. While it hasn’t achieved the same level of success that Destiny 2 has, it’s still admirable to see The Division 2’s fanbase get more content simply by being passionate about the game. It’s certainly a good sign for the future of the franchise.

Of course, Ubisoft is also working on a Star Wars project from The Division 2’s developer Massive Entertainment, and while no details have been revealed about it yet, some have speculated that it could be a looter-shooter, which would put it in direct competition with The Division franchise. That would certainly shake up the genre’s landscape, and it could mean fans don’t get The Division 3 for some time, but that’s purely speculation until Ubisoft reveals more.

For now, though, PS5 players can look forward to the volumetric fog fix while waiting for more updates. There’s a lot of content in The Division 2 for players to run through, but the really interesting part will be seeing what the future holds for the game.

The Division 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
